Congratulations to MHS February Teacher of the Month, Mr. David Simpson!

Congratulations to MHS February Teacher of the Month, Mr. David Simpson! This is Mr. Simpson's 25 year in education, and 14th at Marbury High School. He is the band director at MHS and MMS and also teaches Art Survey. In addition to his duties in Marbury, he also teaches Music Appreciation at Bevill State Community College in Jasper, Alabama.

Mr. Simpson earned his Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Alabama where he was also a member of the Million Dollar Marching Band playing sousaphone. He earned his Master's Degree in Music Education from Troy University and is also pursing a degree in English Education from the University of North Alabama.  

Not only does Mr. Simpson teach, but he still is very active in performing. He is a member of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra as a bassoonist and in the Montgomery Community Band. In the past, he has also been a member of the Tuscaloosa and LaGrange Symphony Orchestras, in addition to the Prattville Pops Community Band. 

Mr. Simpson just took the Marbury Northstars Band to Tuscaloosa for the annual MPA competition where they scored all Superior ratings!
